little friends for little people

These little friends are hand knitted from 4 ply pure wool, and are designed to be easily held in little hands. Each is unique with its own personality, from the laid back lad in the orange beanie, to the shy little fella in the patterned jumper.
They are from 140 to 180mm tall, have no bits such as buttons that children can chew off, and are soft and cuddly, as well as being washable. All additional decoration is embroidered on.
They are $15 each plus postage.

what's in stock

THE BROOCHES. I have visual arts training which I have put into practice over many years, in a number of ways, here with the art work for these fabric creations. They are made from recycled furniture fabric samples, backed with felt I found at that wonderful treasure trove, Reverse Garbage, and constructed using both machine and hand sewing. I create each one as I go, so each is unique.

abc flags

These flags are my original designs. I made the artwork into transfers which I then turned into these lovely flags which can be hung as alphabet flags or to form a name. These are the first three.

fabric brooches

I have been experimenting with fabric brooches for which I use my own designs. They begin as line drawings and little paintings, and I then make transfers from them. The fabric is all recycled from my fabric box, including furniture samples. I have ironed on stiffening and backed them with felt which I bought at Reverse Garbage, a great place for treasures. Here are some of the designs which I will have for sale at the next Little Market.

making things makes happiness

Now that I have time, having swapped it with money making, I am rediscovering the joys of creating. Having made things all my life, I am puuting all that experience together and having great fun. I have discovered a wonderful monthly market behing the Avid Reader bookshop in Boundary St, West End, and together with other creative and lovely people, gather ther to sell our wares. You can reach it at http://www.lovelythingmakers.blogspot.com/
Here are some of my creations. I will add more as I format the photos. They were inspired by the arrival of my grandson, for whom I began to make things, and have not stopped. As well as the knitted toys there are name flags. These are made individually and strung up on cotton cord to make any name you want.

Bec and I have also been learning pattern making with the intention of creating some funky clothes. So watch this space.
